Waller Women’s Ministry
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children Titus 2:3-4 (NIV)
The Waller Women’s Ministry Team consists of 10-12 women who represent a balance of the ages and interests of the women of Waller. The purpose of this team is to create a balance of opportunities in which women will be challenged to grow in the following areas: Discipleship, Evangelism, Ministry and Christian Fellowship. It is based on the Titus 2 principle of women mentoring women in an atmosphere of loving encouragement.
Activities include…
A Heart to Heart Ministry which offers older and younger women an opportunity to build a relationship based on their love for Christ and their personal interests. Partners have been assigned and the reports are that some have joined with other partners to enjoy an evening of bowling, spent time together at the recent ladies retreat.
A Ladies Retreat…The Ultimate Make-Over, A Holy Transformation.
Angel Tree to benefit the folks at our inner-city mission will be sponsored in December. Each year the folks at Waller provide Christmas gifts for 50-60 folks at the Mission. For some these are the only Christmas gifts they receive.
The WMC also sponsors a float in the annual Bossier Christmas Parade in an effort to turn the focus of our city’s Christmas Celebration to Jesus… the REAL reason for the season. We’re challenging other churches in our area to do the same.
