News and Events – Week of March 14th

Finance Committee to Meet
The Finance Committee will meet at 5:15PM on Monday, March 15th in the Conference room.

Pistachio – The Little Boy that Woodn’t!
Boys and girls, K-3, will want to be a part of this exciting new children’s choir based on material from Veggie Tales.  Rehearsal will be each Sunday at 5PM in the Children’s Wing.  All boys and girls, K-3  are encouraged to participate.

No AWANA this Week!

There will be NO AWANA this week, due to Spring break.  They will meet again on Wednesday night March 24th.

Youth Paint Ball Excursion!
Waller youth will enjoy a fun day together on Tuesday, March 16th. Meet at the Church at 9AM with $25 (exact change, please) to give to Brother Danny before you depart for Off Limits Paintball, Inc. near Elm Grove, LA.

Singles of Service to Have Bible Study
The Singles of Service will have their monthly Bible Study/Fellowship at the home of Dr. Cliff and Becky Estes on Saturday, March 20th at 4PM.

Youth to WinterJam 2010!

The Waller youth will meet at the church at 4PM Saturday, March 20th for a pizza supper before heading to the CenturyTel Arena for the WinterJam 2010 concert, which starts at 6PM.

Week of Prayer for North American Missions
March 7-14, 2010 ~ Annie Armstrong Easter Offering….. 2010 Goal: $70 million
Envelopes are available in the foyers of the church.


Golden Pioneers to LA State Exhibit Museum TOMORROW!

Our very own Golden Pioneers will be heading to the LA State Exhibit Museum TOMORROW at 9AM to tour “The Purse & the Person” exhibit. The exhibit features a century of women’s purses with stories of the meaning behind their personalities and the purses they chose…. more than 3,000 purses!  Afterward they will head to the Waskom Catfish Village for a Dutch Treat lunch.

Missions Committee Meeting
The Missions Committee will have their monthly meeting Sunday, March 21st @ 4PM in the Adult Education Building.

Ladies’ Night Out – March 22nd!
Attention all ladies! Monday, March 22nd is a date to mark on your calendar!  Meet your friends at Waller at the new Olive Garden Restaurant in Bossier at 6PM (or meet at the church at 5:30PM) for a Dutch Treat meal and a lot of fun and fellowship!

New Members Class
A Prospective Members Class will be held periodically  in the Church Library. (NEXT Date: Sunday, March 21st)  This class will meet from 9:30 to 1PM (during Sunday School and Worship service followed by lunch) and  is designed to ensure that all prospective members understand the foundational truths on which our church is based. If at the conclusion of this 3  hour class, you are confident of your relationship to Christ and believe  that Waller is the place of worship for you, we will be happy to receive you into our Fellowship either by baptism or by transfer of membership from a church of like faith.

AWANA Bible Quiz Competition This Saturday!
AWANA boys and girls, grades 3 – 6, who have been meeting with Miss Kay and Miss Terri on Sunday afternoons to prepare for the upcoming Bible Quiz Competition will meet on Saturday, March 20th for the  big area-wide event. The competition this year will be held at our own church from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.  Be sure to see your leaders for more details!It’s Not Too Late to join FAITH Today!
Dr. Cliff teaches a class for new learners at 4PM. This Class is followed by a 5PM visitation time where each learner will be paired with at least one experienced trainer. This is a great training opportunity for those who wish to be equipped to carry out the Great Commission!  Note to All  Faith Trainers! Your help is needed for FAITH Visitation this semester. The first outreach is TODAY…March 14th at 5PM.

New Waller Cookbook in the Making!!
The Golden Pioneers need your help! They are collecting recipes for a new Waller Cookbook! Pick up a form(s) from the Women’s Ministry Table in foyer next to the kitchen and share your favorite recipe with us. Be sure to PRINT  the recipe and drop it in the box on the table. Take as many forms as you need (1 for each recipe) and bring them back later if you prefer. The plan is for the cookbooks to be ready for sale just in time to be used for Christmas gifts.

Next Mission Trip to MITC Set for Sept 4-11
You may begin now to save for your ticket to Cordoba, Mexico…or you may provide the means for someone else to go. Contact Danny Alexander for more information.

Welcome Our Newest Members!

The Crook Family    By Letter
We welcome Mark and Karen Crook and their daughters Lindsey and Whitney to our Church family.  Mark and Karen are members of the Median Adult class taught by Jim Phillips, and Lindsey and Whitney are in our Senior High Youth Department.

Joe Carter    By Baptism
We welcome Joe to our Church family by baptism.  Joe recently professed his faith in Christ. He joins his Mother Harmonie Pierresaint, who is also a recent new member. Joe is actively involved in our Youth I Department.
