The Lord put the desire in her heart many years ago for the deaf ministry in Africa.   She was finally able to go in January of 2009.   She covets our prayers as she continues this ministry there.  Pray for Debbie’s safety as the political climate continues to change, as well as prayer for opportunities with all the lost through sign language.

Upcoming MITC Trip!
An upcoming MITC trip is being planned.  If you are interested in going, please see Danny Alexander. The dates are January 16th - 23rd.  He needs to get a head-count pretty soon, so see him right away if you think you might be interested in this ministry opportunity!

Missions Committee Meeting Today
The Missions Committee will meet at 5PM today for their regular monthly meeting.

Signers to Minister at LSU Pediatrics Ward
The Silent Singers will minister in the Pediatrics Ward at LSU on Wednesday, December 23rd at 10AM. Check with Miss Debbie for departure time from the Church.

Wednesday Night Schedule this Week
We will have the Adult Bible Study and the Youth Bible Study on Wednesday, December 23rd. All other activities have been canceled for that night.

Christmas Eve Service to Be Held
A Christmas Eve Service has been planned for December 24th at 6PM. You will want to bring your out-of-town guests to this special event as we celebrate the birth of our Lord as a Church family.

Ministry to Shut-Ins
Do you know a shut-in who would like to receive a cassette tape or a CD of the Sunday morning message?  The Women’s Ministry will see that a tape or a CD  is made for them each week, but your help may be needed in getting it delivered to them.  Call the Church office (746-2462) and let’s talk about it.

Lottie Moon Post Office Box is Now in Place
The Lottie Moon Post Office is in place for your use in exchanging cards with your church family. Here’s how it works: Place your Christmas Cards to Waller folks in the appropriate alphabetical slot. Leave off the postage stamp and put the money you would have spent on stamps in the collection box on the top of the mailbox.  All money collected will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.  Note! This also means that you must check the mail box each week to see if you have received any cards.

Anticipating the Birth of Christ
On various tables will find little booklets entitled “Anticipating The Birth of Christ: The Stories of Simeon & Anna”.   Please feel free to take one or more to read.

Attention Waller Book Club Members (and Wannabes)
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers has been selected as the topic of discussion for the Book Club Meeting on February 13th. If you would like to purchase the book at a discounted price, see Robinan Smith before she places the order on January 3rd.

“PAUSE” is Coming - February  5-7, 2010
All youth need to be aware that PAUSE (a mini-retreat) has been scheduled for February 5-7 at Camp Bethany. You must register with Brother Danny by January 10th if you wish to attend. The cost is $50.

New Members Class
A Prospective Members Class will be held each month in the Church Library.  This class which will meet from 9:30 to 12Noon (during Sunday School and Worship service)  is designed to ensure that all prospective members understand the foundational truths on which our church is based.  If at the conclusion of this 2½ hour class, you are confident of your relationship to Christ and believe  that Waller is the place of worship for you, we will be happy to receive you into our Fellowship either by baptism or by transfer of membership from a church of like faith.

December 13th Ballot Results
There was a vote taken December 13th in the AM service by written ballot.  (Ballots are to be retained for one year.) The budget passed and all the men nominated to serve as active deacons were elected: Gary Ponder, Jimmy King, Joe Dean, Joseph Chastain, and Hal Becker.  They will serve a three year rotation beginning January 1, 2010 and concluding December 31, 2012.
